Spend a Couple of Days Paddling and Camping on One of the Best Rivers in the Country ~ the Wisconsin River
With its tree lined shores, sandy bottom and hundreds of sand
bars to camp on, the Wisconsin River is a virtual paradise in the
heart of the Midwest.
In 1982 the last 92 miles of the Wisconsin River was protected from
development by the Lower Wisconsin Riverway Board. Because of
this forethought you'll see very few houses during your paddle and
views of the bluffs in the distance are unspoiled.
The Wisconsin River is on the migratory route of many birds that fly
between Canada and points south. We are lucky enough to have
large populations of Bald Eagle
s, Sand Hill Cranes, Blue Herons,
King Fishers and many other water oriented birds. Additionally
you'll also see turtles sunning themselves on logs along the rivers
edge.
Come canoe or kayak the best river in the Midwest, the WI River.
