Spend a Couple of Days Paddling and Camping on One of the Best Rivers in the Country ~ the Wisconsin River

With its tree lined shores, sandy bottom and hundreds of sand bars to camp on, the Wisconsin River is a virtual paradise in the heart of the Midwest.

In 1982 the last 92 miles of the Wisconsin River was protected from development by the Lower Wisconsin Riverway Board. Because of this forethought you'll see very few houses during your paddle and views of the bluffs in the distance are unspoiled.

The Wisconsin River is on the migratory route of many birds that fly between Canada and points south. We are lucky enough to have large populations of Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, Blue Herons, King Fishers and many other water oriented birds. Additionally you'll also see turtles sunning themselves on logs along the rivers edge.

Come canoe or kayak the best river in the Midwest, the WI River.

2 Locations for Canoe and Kayak Rentals

At Wisconsin River Outings we are paddlers also. We spend time on the river weekly and have paddled many of the lakes and rivers in Wisconsin while on guided trips and for pleasure.

Because we believe in the river we're on and believe that paddling brings friends and families together we want to give you options for your paddle experience. Boscobel is the location of our headquarters, 90 miles west of Madison, WI. We reside in an 1840's feed mill that is currently being rehabbed. This quiet stretch of river is secluded and quite private. Sauk City is located 35 minutes north of Madison, WI and has several established canoe rentals that put quite a few boats on the water which can make for a more Spring Break atmosphere but on the same beautiful river.

We ARE Paddlesports Professionals!

While maintaining the largest non-aluminum canoe rental fleet on the WI River we want to provide you the most professional guided trip and canoe/kayak rental experience you can find. In a continuing effort to meet our customers’ expectations, we are an active member in the Professional Paddlesports Association, American Canoe Association and the Boscobel Chamber of Commerce.

We also pride ourselves in being the #1 source for Boy and Girl Scout guided trips/rentals in the Midwest.
